Mission Statement

We believe the Knights of Columbus provides Catholic men the best opportunity in today’s world of following in the footsteps of Christ. We want to do all within our power to grow the Order and foster healthy, vibrant councils in every parish.

As Knights, we should all believe this. Viewed in this light, it makes sense that we want to give all Catholic men the opportunity to join the Knights.

Goals for new councils and council reactivations for this year are as follows.

  • 15 new councils (1 per diocese)
  • 13 reactivated council (1 per diocese except for Tyler and Victoria, which have no suspended councils)

How can the State Council help councils build membership?

The Membership Committee is structured to aid individual councils and be of service in helping them grow. To that end, the committee is organized to aid councils in these specific areas:

  • Help them make their councils and programs more visible in their parishes.
  • Help councils nurture relationships with parish priests.
  • Help them create a membership building culture.
  • Help them convert Online to Council members.
  • Help them put on Exemplifications.
  • Help them mentor and include new members.
  • Provide support to help start new councils.
  • Provide support to aid in reactivating suspended and inactive councils.
  • Create competition to breed performance.

Become a Knight

We are Catholic men who lead, serve, protect and defend. We share a desire to be better husbands, fathers, sons, neighbors and role models and to put charity and community first.

Knights come from every stage of life, in countless corners of the world. Join us as we celebrate real role models in a world that needs men who lead, serve, protect and defend.

Become a Knight

What does it mean to be a Knight?

Faith

Our goal is to help men, their families and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith.

Serve

Lead your family and community in faith and service through our local councils service programs.

Protect

The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society, which means we can provide financial security to members and their families, while turning premiums into charitable impact.

Defend

We advocate for life. The right to life is unlike any other right. It is the most basic right and the condition of all other personal rights, constituting the foundation of every human community and the political community itself.
