Education, Training, and Communications
Chad M. Sandwell, State Director
The mission of the Education, Training, and Communication team is to effectively and efficiently provide training and education to the leadership of the Knights of Columbus in Texas. We support other directorates to ensure the overall success of Texas.
Our website and social media outlets are designed to pass along valuable information and showcase the great work performed by Knights across Texas. The Finish Line will continue to be published monthly. We will highlight successful programs seen by diocesan and district leaders, inspiring fresh ideas for others.
Financial Secretary Training
David Solis, Chairman
The Financial Secretary is vital to a council’s success. Our Financial Secretary Trainers will provide training to new and existing financial secretaries, aiming to conduct at least two training sessions per diocese in the upcoming fraternal year, along with several one-on-one virtual training sessions as needed. Basic training takes about three hours. Diocesan Deputies arranging in-person training must ensure stable internet connectivity.
These classes are open to all council and assembly officers and District Deputies, with video training available via Zoom. Trainers are assigned to dioceses as follows:
- Austin and San Antonio – Peter Donahoe, Jr.
- El Paso, San Angelo – David Solis
- Beaumont, Tyler – Ed Juno
- Galveston-Houston, Victoria – Jerry Giegerich
- Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo – Michael Murphy
- Dallas, Fort Worth – Victor Garza
- Lubbock, Amarillo – Steve Webb

Diocesan deputies are encouraged to appoint social media coordinators to work with the state chairmen and post relevant information on diocesan and state platforms. Coordinators must comply with Supreme’s social media policy.
