It happens every year. The Diocese of Galveston/Houston kicks off the Fraternal Year with their Grand Knight University. This year there was a little bit of a twist. Instead of holding a separate class for all the new District Deputies, the District Deputies were asked to bring all of their new Grand Knights.
The Grand Knights got pushed into the deep end very quickly. They were given all the tools and instruction on how to be successful in their position. Everyone was asked to bring a laptop, so functions of Member Manangement and Member Billing could be illustrated to these new Council Leaders.
The 6.5 hour class also included instruction for the District Deputies on how they can get themselves off on the right foot by getting their necessary forms filled out and turned into Supreme on time.
Breakfast and lunch were served to all the men, and the attendees all left saying that they learned a lot and each of the Councils represented should be able to get off to a fast start this Fraternal Year.
