Each year, from early March through mid-December, Silver Roses are carried along pilgrimage routes stretching from Canada to Mexico, stewarded by Knights of Columbus councils across North America. These journeys serve as a living symbol of unity, devotion, and prayer, dedicated to the sanctity of life and the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
This year, Route 8 of the Silver Rose pilgrimage passed through Texas from April 20th to July 12th. Council 7850 had the honor of hosting the Silver Rose on Wednesday, April 30th, following the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
The ceremony included four parts:
The Holy Rosary
Liturgy of the Word
Act of Consecration to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Final Blessing
The event offered parishioners a profound moment of prayer and reflection, drawing attention to the defense of life, the renewal of nations, and the intercession of the Blessed Mother.
Throughout the morning, the Silver Rose was reverently guarded by Fourth Degree Sir Knights of Assembly 2266, including Chris Curto, Tom Juneau, Dan Eckelkamp, Robert Wilson, and Edward Stankunas, all of whom helped preserve the solemnity of the occasion.
“Every stop the Silver Rose makes is a rosary-centered occasion for spiritual renewal,” said Faith Director Tom Juneau. “We are blessed to be part of this international witness of life and Marian devotion.”
The Silver Rose Program, a key initiative of the Knights’ Life Programs, powerfully links our councils across borders in unified prayer, while honoring the Queen of the Americas.
