The Denton Knights of Columbus Council 16393 received a request from Fr. Jose Frances, the Pastor of St. John Paul II Parish, to assist an elderly parishioner who was seriously injured in a car accident. Fr. Jose is also the Chaplain of the Council and Faithful Friar for the local 4th Degree Assembly. The parishioner is currently in a rehabilitation hospital but eventually will be dismissed to the care of her family. At that time, the family will need a wheelchair for mobility.

Deputy Grand Knight Butch Holzer put the wheels into motion and made contact with brother knight Mark Von Rosenberg, who coordinates the wheelchair program for the Fort Worth Diocese, regarding the possibility of securing a wheelchair for use by the parishioner. In less than 24 hours the chair was secured and delivered to the patient in the Rehabilitation Hospital. Deputy Grand Knight Holzer and Fr. Jose delivered the wheelchair and blessed both the patient and the priceless wheelchair donation.

Remember a donation on just one wheelchair can affect the lives on 10 people!
