Council 7850 has been among the most senior participants in the Adopt-A-Highway Pr
ogram for the City of Plano since its inception in 1987. Council members volunteer their time on a designated Saturday morning from 7:00am to 9:00am on a bimonthly basis. The crew meets in the south parking lot of the Faith Formation Center (FFC) to get oufitted with reflective vests, gloves, a trash stick and trash bag before moving out to their assigned sections.
The crew is not sent out on an empty stomach. Waiting for them when they arrive is coffee, orange juice, water and an assortment of donuts and bagels to provide comfort food for nourishment on their quest for trash! This month the event was scheduled on Saturday, February 8th.
The activity started at about 9:00am and the weather was clear and mild. The faithful ten, including Mamie Blasik (photographer), worked diligently and the job was completed in about 90 minutes.
