Council 6358 (Good Shepherd, Schertz) helped its parish start the 2025 Lent and
Easter seasons by presenting it with 3 new wooden crosses for display out front of
Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
In addition to a 12-foot cedar cross for our crucified Lord, Council 6358 built two more 10-foot cedar crosses to flank the 12-foot cross, thereby also depicting the two thieves crucified alongside Christ.
One end of the arm on Christ’s cross has a medallion of Blessed Michael J. McGivney sealed in it to recognize the inspiration provided by our founder. The other end of
the arm of Christ’s cross has a medallion with the emblem of the Order of the Knights of Columbus sealed in it to recognize the contribution made to the parishby the Knights of Columbus.
These 3 new crosses were presented and blessed at a brief ceremony for all parishioners to attend after mass on Ash Wednesday. Council 6358 prays that these crosses will touch the hearts of those in the parish and the community where they reside, and they will assist the parish with inspiring more people to come hear the Word of our Lord.
