On the weekend of March 14th and 15th, Zapata Council #9650 took full advantage of the vibrant Zapata County Fair festivities to coordinate three highly successful and fulfilling events. The busy weekend kicked off with a strong showing in the 54th Annual Zapata County Fair Parade.
The impressive procession featured Diocese of Laredo Bishop James A. Tamayo, Fr. Antoni Micho, Fr. Janusz Glabinski, the Diocese of Laredo Honor & Color Guard Assembly 2565, members of Zapata Council #9650, Knights on Bikes, and the Catholic Cross Bearers Motorcycle Ministry.
On Sunday, the momentum continued at Our Lady of Lourdes, where Council #9650 proudly presented the local Knights of Columbus Family of the Year award to the Cloud family. The council then rounded out the weekend by hosting a successful Church Membership Drive, welcoming two new Knights into the Order. While it was an incredibly busy two days for the Zapata Knights, the council remains deeply grateful for the community fellowship and the opportunity to grow their ranks.
